IT WAS ONCE frequent for states to separate their pair of senators between the 2 main events. In 2010 there have been 19 such states. At this time solely three have true splits. In all three of these states—Ohio, Montana and Wisconsin—the Democrat-held seats are up for election in November. And all three may nicely be misplaced. Jon Tester faces an uphill re-election bid in Montana. In Ohio, Sherrod Brown, a third-term incumbent, should persuade a big share of Donald Trump voters to separate their tickets (an more and more uncommon phenomenon) if he’s to stay in workplace. That leaves Tammy Baldwin, the twice-elected senator from Wisconsin, who’s campaigning on the least Trumpy terrain of the three.
